The Keystone Bar

Our customer approached us with the desire to make a bar reminiscent of the ones you might find in Europe. His request was for the bar to be built in dark tones and to have an old world feel. We went one step further and added a keystone detail in the corbels and up top between the crown molding. This was to honour his wife’s Pennsylvania roots.

We created all the moldings in house for the bar, from the base board, vertical fluted columns to the six inch crown molding. The upper cabinet doors are arched and have a textured glass called “water” in them. They are also lit and have glass shelves. The base of the bar front is in a frame and panel style with moldings, surrounded by four hand carved solid one piece walnut corbels. The corbels support the countertop which was scalloped by the stone craftsmen to accent the woodwork in the bar.
