Tracy’s Music “Nucleus”

This chest on chest was so named as to poke fun at a certain world leader who could not pronounce the word “nuclear” or “nucleus” correctly.

Truly inspired by 18th century European furniture, this is an original design. It was made for my then wife, a professional harpist. This explains the musical motif. The base chest serves as file cabinet and the upper chest is a book case. There are some small drawers in the upper case that hold the accessories for a musician. The musical signatures are made from handcrafted walnut plies, scroll cut, hand carved and ebonized. The pulls — musical quarter rests — are hand carved from half inch solid brass. The chest is constructed in blight-harvested butternut dyed to look like European walnut with ebonized walnut accents, moldings and tops and a poplar carcass.
